I use it every day with my own songs, and every feature comes from something I needed while writing, recording, and releasing new music. Staying organized gets harder as your catalog grows, and I wanted a better way to keep track of everything without losing creative momentum.
Along the way, I also learned how much work goes into registering songs and recordings correctly so that songwriters and master owners can actually get paid for what they create. StudioNotes exists to make that part of the process clearer and easier to manage without getting in the way of the music.
I’ve also spent more than 30 years working as a software engineer and architect, which means StudioNotes was built with the same care, reliability, and attention to detail I expect from the tools I rely on every day.
StudioNotes was created to solve a simple but persistent problem:
Making music is creative -- keeping track of everything around it is not.
Songs move through many stages. Ideas turn into demos. Demos turn into recordings. Recordings become releases. Along the way there are collaborators, notes, registrations, deadlines, and details that matter -- and they’re often scattered across notes apps, spreadsheets, emails, and folders.
StudioNotes brings all of that information together into one clear, reliable workspace -- without trying to replace your DAW or change how you create.
It’s designed to help you stay organized so you can stay focused on making music.
StudioNotes is built for people who are actively creating and releasing music, including:
Whether you’re working on one song at a time or managing a growing catalog, StudioNotes adapts to your workflow -- not the other way around.
StudioNotes doesn’t store audio files, run ads, or collect personal data.
Your project information is stored in your own iCloud account and synced securely across your Apple devices.
If you stop subscribing, you don’t lose access to your work -- you can still view, search, and export everything you’ve created.
StudioNotes is a living product, shaped by real-world use.
The focus moving forward is on:
The goal isn’t to build the biggest platform -- it’s to build a tool songwriters, musicians and producers can rely on for the long term. Feedback from working songwriters, artists, and producers plays a big role in guiding what comes next. If you have suggestions, please let us know with the Contact section below.
StudioNotes was built with the belief that creative tools should be:
If StudioNotes helps you feel more organized, confident, and in control of your creative work, then it’s doing its job.
